Grant Programs

PLEASE NOTE:  The Foundation is changing its application process for competitive grants. Beginning in 2019, applications will be accepted only from organizations that have been invited to apply.  Those organizations will receive an email notification before the end of the year inviting them to apply for applications that will be due February 28.

Competitive Grant Program

The focus of The Susan A. and Donald P. Babson Charitable Foundation is the enrichment and empowerment of people of all ages around the world, so as to prevent exploitation, poverty, and injustice.

The Foundation does not make capital grants. A limited number of multi-year grants might be considered in each grant cycle.

In 2017, the grant range was $1,000 to $10,000. The average grant size was $2,500.

Beginning in 2019, applications will be accepted only from organizations that have been invited to apply.  Organizations that are invited to submit an application for 2019 will receive an email notification before the end of the year with instructions on submitting a proposal.

Applications will be due February 28.

This program reflects the interests of individual trustees and family members in creating a better community and world. No grant applications are accepted for this program. We will ask recipients of discretionary grants to enter information on our online portal.
